CertainTeed WeatherBoards Smooth Lap Siding captures the look and feel of wood in a natural, but more durable material. WeatherBoards is manufactured using a multi-step, high-pressure process combining Portland cement, sand, wood fiber, and specialty additives. Wood grains and other architectural features are pressed into the surface.
CertainTeed WeatherBoards offers resistance to freeze and thaw cycles, and is highly dimensionally stable. In addition, WeatherBoards is resistant to damaging ultraviolet (UV) rays and salt spray, and is immune to wood-boring insects. WeatherBoards is also resistant to high wind forces when installed in accordance with CertainTeed application instructions. As an added layer of protection, CertainTeed WeatherBoards also have a Class 1(A) Fire Rating. With all of these qualifications, they are built to take on the elements and then some.
CertainTeed's exclusive FiberTect™ Sealing System is ready for field top coating with high quality, acrylic latex paint or stains. Factory prefinishing is available in the following paint and stain colors. CertainTeed WeatherBoards FiberCement Siding must be allowed to breathe; therefore, it must never be primed, painted, or stained on the backside.
Stain coatings are machine-applied to Fibertect®-sealed WeatherBoards siding. These stains feature a 12-year Limited Coating Warranty (see actual warranty for details and conditions). So if you want to simulate the natural beauty of wood with siding that is easy to maintain, choose WeatherBoards Stain FiberCement Siding.
