Wall panels are wood stud sheathed walls assembled in sections by precision machines in environmentally controlled facilities for commercial and residential construction. Wall panels are the easiest way for you to build in less time, with less labor and waste.
Wall panels can be built in lengths from 3" all the way up to 20', with some panels as long as 22'. The height of the wall can vary from 3' up to 20' or more, but the general maximum that one wall can be constructed to is 20' long by 12' tall, with 2" x 4" or 2" x 6" construction. The walls themselves will be built with all appropriate openings such as doors, windows, fireplaces, or niches already framed into place. Wall panels will also come complete with junctions and necessary overlapping top plates to join the panels together.
Wall panels can be made from standard dimensional lumber or from such products as finger-jointed, LVL or LSL studs (we are not currently building walls from metal studs). Wall panels can be sheathed with a variety of exterior sheathing such as OSB, Biltrite, or exterior-grade gypsum sheathing. This sheathing is applied to the side of the wall that creates the outer skin of the house. Wall panels do not come with house wraps or siding products. There is no wall covering on the inside face of the walls such as sheetrock or paneling. The stud cavities are bare, and there are no installed wires for electricity or pipes for plumbing; this will be done on-site as usual.
Wall panels can be purchased installed through Scherer Brothers Truss Division, or you can choose to install them yourself, however, we recommend you purchase them installed. We use the one of the finest and largest installation subcontractors who specializes in wall panel installation.
Wall panels are the right choice for most any type of residential or commercial remodeling or construction application. The predictability of the product itself, along with its ability to save you time, cover labor shortages, and save money through reduced waste, shorter carrying costs, and safer working conditions make the wall panels a very attractive building option.
Whether you build single-family, large single-family developments, twin-homes, townhomes, or apartments, wall panels are the perfect fit for your business.
